- President – Ben Wahli
Ben Wahli, his wife, and three dogs and cats moved to West Central in the fall of 2015. This move was the culmination of nearly a year of work rehabbing a house from a shell into their home.
Ben has served on several boards and is excited about the opportunity to be of service to the neighborhood. He works for Do it Best Corp. in the marketing department. Combining his board experience with his marketing skills, Ben’s goal is to help West Central communicate its brand and value.
- Vice-President – Brandon Steffen
- Treasurer – Joel Sauer
In 2012, Joel Sauer and his wife, Ellen, restored and moved into a beautiful split-timber Queen Anne home on West Washington Boulevard. Before the restoration even began, they had already gotten to know many of the wonderful West Central neighbors and joined the neighborhood association (WCNA). Both view the WCNA not only as critical to continuing the vibrancy of the close-knit community but also in maintaining the historic integrity of the homes and neighborhood – a treasure for all of Fort Wayne and Northeast Indiana.
Joel has served on many organizational boards, both not-for-profit and for profit in the past, and he is honored to serve as Treasurer for the WCNA. Working with his fellow board members and the neighbors, he will work to continue the great advocacy role of the WCNA and to make it an indispensable partner for the City of Fort Wayne.
- Secretary – Kelly Benton
Kelly Benton and her husband, Ryan, first experienced West Central living in 2011 during a short stint living in a rental on Rockhill. After moving away, they realized how much they missed the neighborhood’s atmosphere and proximity to downtown, so they purchased a home in the fall of 2015 and officially made West Central home.
They now occupy a beautifully restored house with their two dachshunds and newborn son, Carter. Kelly is self employed as a wedding photographer and plans to use her organizational skills and type A personality to serve the board as Secretary.
