Home and Garden Tour and Arts Fest 2012

The 2012 Home and Garden Tour and ArtsFest will be September 8th and 9th.  We will be working hard to put together another great tour this year, so if you would like to volunteer to help or to volunteer your historic West Central home, please call 385-WEST or contact one of the board or tour committee members.

Call for Home and Garden Tour and Arts Fest Volunteers2012

The last few months since our 2011 Home and Garden Tour and Arts Fest have flown by quickly, and it is that time of year again where friends and hard-working committee members come together to start planning ‘the best ever’ WCNA Home and Garden Tour and Arts Fest.  Below are the details for the kick off meeting later this month.

Date:               Tuesday, February 28, 2012
Time:               6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Place:              Calhoun Street – Soups, Salad & Spirits
Address:         1915 S. Calhoun Street

West Central is looking for neighborhood residents who would like to participate on the Tour Committee this year.  We are looking for committee volunteers interested in helping with: advertising & sponsorship sales, media marketing, and brochure marketing.   If you are interested, please feel free to come to our kick off meeting (or call the WCNA phone at 260-385-9378).

Later in the summer, we will announce the need for additional volunteers to help with the day of the tour and specific items such as:  tour guides, house captains, ArtsFest set up and tear-down.  So if this is the year you want to get involved, we have many tasks to accomplish.

Home and Garden Tour and Arts Fest 2011

The 2011 Tour was another successful and enjoyable event. Thank you to everyone who volunteered or visited our historic homes and gardens during last year’s tour.  Also, thanks to everyone who came out to listen to the music or support our local artists at the ArtsFest.  Pictures and more information about past tours are available on the Tour page.

Thieme Drive Overlook Rendering

The original Thieme Drive Overlook welcoming visitors to our neighborhood at the Main Street Bridge turnoff onto Thieme Drive.  The Overlook celebrated its 100th anniversary this year, and recent renovations have removed the overgrowth covering the retaining wall, thus providing a vista of the St. Marys River.
