REPORTS

·                     Minutes from meeting of  March 2009 accepted and approved

·                     Treasurer’s Report:  accepted and approved

·                     Membership: No report (last month’s report - 19 Seniors, 45 individuals, 6 organizations, 9 businesses)

o       Discussion on changing household structure – decision was to keep structure the same and perhaps raise business memberships next year

·                     House Tour – next meeting will be at Henry’s on April 15, 2009, at 7:00 p.m.

·                     LHD – meeting cancelled – will need to set new date

 

OLD BUSINESS

·                     Emmanuel – Neighborhood Plan – Section 8 acceptable – City has proposed bigger plans which have caused Emmanuel to rethink position on Area 3

·                     T-Shirts – Diane Groenert will do – need minimum run of 6 – sign up ahead of time – print will be cream – can drop off at 125 W. Wayne – 12:00-2:00 on Fridays (Art Up) – individuals to supply shirts and will cost $10 per shirt. 

·                     Canterbury Project – Meet at Moody Park – 9:00 a.m. April 16th – will tie into Great American Clean Up

NEW BUSINESS

·                     Section 42 Housing

o       City plan for Section 42 was rejected by Renaissance Pointe area.  Developers would now like to move plan to West Central

o       Chris Flick and Henry Hall are developers and have $9 million to rehab homes and build on vacant lots

o       Rent-to-Own (after 15 years, homes would be purchased by current renter) – must have decision by end of May to meet deadline for this round’s funding

o       Will use April 21st meeting to host Rent-to-Own discussion

o       J. Simerman raises issues about historic nature of neighborhood and ability of housing to fit in

·                     CHDO

o       CHDO is getting to the point where a decision needs to be made about making it an entirely separate board or, if it stays under control of the current board, would need to be separate members.
