REPORTS

·                     Minutes July 2009 - accepted and approved

·                     Treasurer’s Report:  accepted and approved

·                     Membership: 21 seniors; 60 individuals; 8 organizations; 13 businesses

OLD BUSINESS

·                     Plan Committee

o       Two scenarios for proceeding with Section 42 project

·         No activity – simply act as a pass through – will gain about $56,000

·         Medium activity including helping to identify land and work with company - $88,000 gain

·         WCNA would be liaison for project

·         Should there be involvement from Plan Committee or should project involve just Hall/Flick and WCNA?

·         Additional figures

·         $863,000 total - $77,500 our cut at 9% (minimal activity)

·         $863,000 total - $129,500 our cut at 15% (more work)

·         Site acquisition must be done by November to December of this year

·         Motion by C. Stark to allow steering committee to determine level of site acquisition involvement; J. Stark seconds; passes

·         Steering committee is composed of Scott Greider, Jack Stark, Mike Walsh, Mike Anderson, and Chris Ruckman

·         Mike A. will call Henry Hall tomorrow

o       Update on Heather Presley and Master Plan ($60,000)

·         May delay until next year – need to find out where we stand

·         Motion to send letter to H. Presley (cc: John Urbahns), 2nd M. Walsh, passes (CAW to write letter re: status of $60,000)

·                     LHD

o       Discussion re:  waiting until after Tour to proceed

o       Will go door-to-door instead of hosting another meeting

o       Begin in mid-September

·                     Thieme Drive

o       Sheet of flowing water coming out near W. Washington Blvd. and Thieme Drive

·                     1134 Nelson

o       C. Ruckman provides list of expenses – house is now costing $655 in taxes and $591 in insurance

o       Dreks will stage house for tour

o       Property tax exemption has been disallowed

o       M. Anderson will contact re: using Nelson Street for possible WCNA business

·                     915 Nelson Street

o       Painted – want to build garage (OK?)

·                     1010 Broadway and buildings owned by St. Johns

o       St. Johns is practicing benign neglect by letting buildings fall into disrepair

·         David to turning complaint against St. Johns re: condition of buildings

·         9-member oversight committee for neighborhood code

·                     Emmanuel Lutheran

o       Working on building project

o       September meeting will discuss – ground breaking next year

·                     1230 W. Washington Blvd.

o       Drugs are a problem

·                     Newsletter

o       Do not put in mailbox

o       Distribution next week

·                     Tour Report and Expenses

o       $8900 fundraising

o       DID website will have video

o       Mad Anthonys will serve food and alcohol – WCNA will get 20% of take

·                     Tin Caps Game

o       August 16, 2009 – TinCaps game – Wellspring will get % of proceeds
