REPORTS

·                     Minutes from meeting of  January 2009, accepted and approved

·                     Treasurer’s Report:  accepted and approved

·                     Membership: 13 Seniors, 45 individuals, 5 organizations, 8 businesses

·                     House Tour – several members have resigned and need to be replaced

o       Will seek grant for funding Arts Fest

 

OLD BUSINESS

 

·                     501(C)(3) meeting – Larry and Jack will check into

·                     Other – have Jack sit in as a non-voting member

·                     1134 Nelson – someone has looked at property – perhaps put back on house tour

·                     LHD

o       Hold additional meeting once weather is nicer

o       Inform media

·                     Emmanual Lutheran revitalization project

o       Need to sign new MOU

·                     T-Shirts – will be ordered – will check with commercial printer

·                     Email newsletter – cut and paste – can use Comcast

·                     Keyboard for Chris – David has one that came with his computer – will give to Chris

·                     Traffic Study

o       David will send email re:  Shan Gunawardena to speak at general meeting

 

NEW BUSINESS

·                     Chad Towner – COO of St. Joe is leaving

o       area where demolition was done will be turned into green space

·                     Canterbury Project – about 75 students are available to undertake project in West Central – clean-up, etc.

·                     Get Green Festival - Firehouse

o       4 live bands – Club Soda to provide some food

o       Mike will write letter to obtain permit

·                     Charis House – 533 W. Washington has outgrown its space and is planning on relocating to a lot on Wells Street

o       Merchants oppose

o       Mike is asking that members attend a meeting on March 9, 2009, to oppose Charis House location

o       Judi Wire will speak at general meeting re: opposition to Charis House

·                     Calhoun Street – apparently Calhoun Street will not be turned into 2-way at this time

o       Business owners are concerned they will lose outdoor business traffic

·                     Other

o       Letter to Pam Holocher re: demolition notice

o       Planning Committee says banners cannot hang from lights – perhaps use signs instead

o       Newsletter – due week from Friday
