·                     Minutes from meeting of  December 2007, accepted and approved

·                     Treasurer’s Report:  approved (see attached)

·                     Membership:  Individual – 31; Business – 2; total 33

 

OLD BUSINESS

 

1134 Nelson Street

 

·                     Potential buyer makes too much money – doesn’t qualify

·                     Issue with LM loan

·                     Should clear about $8800 when done

§         Check will go to WC treasury

§         Overage has to be given back to city

§         Unless we do another CHDO, we lose the money

 

1433 Swinney

·                     No longer on demolition list

·                     Chase has mortgage of $46,000 – appraised at $65,000

·                     Checking into possible donation

 

New Employee

·                     New employee is David Long

·                     Wages will be about $11 an hour – need to prepare job description – will work about 15-20 hours a week

·                     Motion to hire D. Long by ____, second, T. Potter, motion passes

 

            Jill Downs

·                     Independent contract reviewed by board

·                     Motion to accept by M. Walsh, second by T. Potter, motion passes

 

            Website

·                     Kevin Knuth will manage website – will re-design and will do for nothing

·                     Mike to reiterate neutrality of site

 

OTHER

 

            Emmanuel Lutheran

·                     Emmanuel Lutheran has plan for West Central and mission statement

·                     Gene Bruno is individual responsible as contact

 

Miscellaneous

·                     Mike Walsh suggests we encourage participation from other groups in the neighborhood

·                     Parade may be coming back through the neighborhood

·                     Public Hearing on January 31, 2008, at 6:00 p.m. zoning appeals board

§         802-804 W. Washington – parking variance

§         1427 Broadway – GenCom application for cell tower

·                     Ask that Al Hofer continue as board member – Suggestion to add Betty Fishman

·                     Check into Thieme Drive being made one-way from W. Washington to Main Street

·                     Dorm for recently released convicts – potential building site is parking lot on Calhoun Street across from jail – would be right next to Headwaters Park

·                     Audit in progress

·                     Need to update signature list at bank

·                     Need to make a yearly budget

·                     Close out account at A.G. Edwards (money market) and move to Tower Bank
