REPORTS

·                     Minutes from meeting of  May 2009 accepted and approved

·                     Treasurer’s Report:  accepted and approved

·                     Membership: 21 Seniors, 60 individuals, 6 organizations, 14 businesses)

·                     House Tour – Suggestions are to close off Union between Wayne and Berry – will try to get a DID grant of $5,000 to $6,000 to help with expenses

·                     LHD – new date July 21, 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00

 

OLD BUSINESS

·                     Thieme Drive

o       Jack met with Bob Kennedy and Dave Ross and presented position – will invite to speak at either June or July meeting

·         Six issues need to be addressed – erosion, flood control, traffic, river greenway, historic preservation, West Central neighborhood concerns

·         Reconfiguring Thieme Drive at W. Washington and Thieme still

·                     1134 Nelson – not sold

 

NEW BUSINESS

·                     Bicycle Commission – Andy Stout named to commission

·                     Swinney Park Pool

o       City is closing pool 

o       Would splash pad be acceptable

·                  Emmanuel Street Party

o       Emmanuel will be closing the 1100 block of Union for a street party the last weekend of Three Rivers Festival

·                     West Central Yard Sale

o       Chris Snepp has volunteered to coordinate

·                     Performing Arts Center – on list for pictures

·                     ARCH – received a letter to join – we are not a member right now

o       M. Walsh makes a motion to join; J. Stark seconds; passes

·                  West Berry Street House

o       C. Weybright noted that the owners still have not repaired the damage done to the front

o       Will email Don and/or Creager to find out time frame

·                     Section 42 Housing

o       Meeting scheduled for May 13th  re: area involved

o       Flyers have been handed out to neighborhood

o       Heather Presley and Henry Hall will attend

o       D. Long suggests M. Anderson chair the meeting

o       Discussion on merits of moving forward with the Section 42 project held

§         M. Anderson makes a motion to vote to move forward; S. Miranda seconds motion; motion passes with one nay.

o       Subsequent to vote, discussion begins on conditions to impose on the developers and builders.

§         Board members note that there are too many to do in tonight’s meeting so discussion is tabled

§         J. Stark makes a motion to “clean-up” the list; C. Bromelmeier seconds; motion passes
