MINUTES

·                     Minutes from meeting of February 19, 2007, accepted and approved

 

REPORTS

·                     Net Worth

o       As of 3/13/07 net worth is $22,180.15

·                     Income/Expense

o       Total Income:              $    905.71

o       Total Expenses:           $4,102.88

Overall Total              $5008.59

 

CHDOs

·                     IACED will be ending CHDO assistance in June/July

o       Will still be able to talk to consultants

o       Will be able to access internet for info

·                     Housing project application is due by April 1, 2007

o       Not sending a letter does not disqualify us

o       If letter isn’t filed, how will it affect continuing ability to participate

o       Jill will send letter of intent with general wording

·                     Nikki handed out packet containing job descriptions, evaluation forms, and personnel policies

·                     Nikki also handed out pamphlet on abandoned property in Indiana

·                     Pamphlet addressed information as to 17-day CHDO training sessions – Jill will tentatively go to two of four sessions

 

HOUSES UPDATE

·                     1134 Nelson Street: 

o       House was broken into for copper tubing

o       Dave Kinder – Neighborhood Revitalization Manager

§         Issue of lead abatement on inside

§         In the interim, controls on inside need to be established

o       Contractor is coming Thursday (must be on City’s approved list)

o       Titan Title – shows liens on property

§         City Code has lien for $115 – will release – John spoke to Tim Doemer

·                     1218 Stophlet

o       House has been demolished – empty lot left

 

·                     1218 Fulton

o       Is not protected

 

·                     802/804 W. Washington

o       Needs to be boarded appropriately

o       New legislation last month at City Council – Conservation Districts

 

·                     Washington/Jefferson

o       Number of houses boarded up is growing

 

BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS

·                     720/722 Wilt Street

o    Appeal hearing is being held to decide whether to allow lots to be divided

o       Mike Walsh made a motion to support the division – Mike Anderson       seconded motion – motion carried

 

GRANTS APPLICATIONS (U.E.A., Foehlinger, other)

·                     Arts United request - $3,478 to help cover House & Garden tour including brochure and music

·                     Foehlinger request - $5,907 which includes money for audit

·                     UEA - $500 to support newletter

 

CEDIT

·                     Application submitted to continue streetscaping and brick streets

 

 

 

PLANNING

·                     Several activities are scheduled for May

o       Great American Clean-Up – May 19, 2007

o       Grass Roots Preservation Roundup – May 12, 2007

o       Decided to have Dumpster Day, Garage Sale, and other activities at a later date

2007 BUDGET

·                     Need to keep better track of budget

 

FLOODING

·                     Jill will check with Dave Ross on date of flood meeting

 

WEST CENTRAL BUILDINGS

·                     901 W. Washington

o       Meeting on March 15, 2007 re: condition of building

·                     Washington School

o       Fort Wayne Community Schools Task Force has suggested closing Washington Elementary and tearing it down by 2010

o       Letter will be sent to FWCS to suggest that other alternatives be found for the school

·                     1010 Broadway

o       Scott Greider has closed on 1010 Broadway

·                     Canton Laundry is closed

·                     Washington School

o       John sent letter to school board expressing concern about the future of the school

o       Tim Pape sent e-mail indicating he has spoken to FWCS to find an alternative use

 

OTHER

·                     WCNA Website

o       Website duties will remain with John Garza for the present
