·                     Nikki presented information on Citizen Participation Plan

·                     Nikki recommended following the Mission

§         WCNA can diversify as it grows and needs to get community involved as WCNA begins to develop projects

·                     HUD model is most widely used and focuses on community involvement

·                     Jill presented a Community Participation Plan – she will make suggested changes and e-mail to us for review

·                     Nikki’s replacement, Michelle Christopher, will attend in June

·                     We will do evaluation of CHDO process and the service provided by IACED

·                     Minutes from meeting of April 10, 2007, accepted and approved

·                     Net Worth

o       As of 5/15/07 net worth is $22,392.72

·                     Income/Expense

o       As of 5/15/07:  Total Income:  $1,663.69

 Total Expenses: $1,876.98

 Overall Total:  -$213.29

·                     Bids were let to subcontractors and received back

·                     Discussion was held as to how much to provide to contractor up front

§         Several members felt the bank may not want to provide a large amount upfront for startup

§         Motion was made by Charlotte Weybright to allow John and Jill to negotiate an acceptable amount – motion was seconded by Casi Bromelmeier and passed by the Board

§         Tom Cain had suggested starting with something that doesn’t require materials – maybe demolition

·                     Now that we are a 501(c)(3) we can qualify for certain loans – interest rates are lower

·                     Pass through funds are being drawn down at a minimal rate

·                     Jill will pursue other funds if available

 

House Tour

 

·                     So far, we have $3800 in sponsorships but would like more

·                     Arts United is trading mailing list for sponsorship

§         Need post card put together

§         Mailing expenses

 

LANDMARKS PRES. WORKSHOP

 

·                     Putting on 2-3 hour walking tour in October

 

BROADWAY STREETSCAPE

 

·                     CEDIT funds – Jefferson to the tracks

·                     Invent Project – Model Block project

·                     All other projects are on hold until next year

·                     ARCH purchased

·                     The Mary Tyler Rockhill is separate from 802/804

·                     Is on the demolition list

·                     Did not sell at tax sale – asking price was $1900

·                     If isn’t demolished perhaps could be next CHDO project

·                     Vacant lot to the east (812) is owned by the county

§         Would cost three times the annual taxes to purchase lot
