REPORTS

·                     Minutes from meeting of  April 2009 accepted and approved

·                     Treasurer’s Report:  accepted and approved

·                     Membership: 19 Seniors, 51 individuals, 6 organizations, 13 businesses)

o       Discussion on changing household structure – decision was to keep structure the same and perhaps raise business memberships next year

·                     House Tour – Suggestions are to close off Union between Wayne and Berry – will try to get a DID grant to help with expeneses

·                     LHD – need to select new date

 

OLD BUSINESS

·                     Emmanuel

o       Neighborhood Plan – Emmanuel wants to do a “hands-on” project in Area 3 – will take survey of Area 3 for repairs, rehab, etc.

o       Emmanuel not interested in bigger plans through the City

o       June 27th will be a clean-up in Area 3

·                     Thieme Drive

o       Jack spoke to Bob Kennedy and Dave Ross – is scheduled for a meeting on Thursday.

·                     501 (C)(3) status

o       Dave Lehman wanted to know if board or the association was a C3

·                     T-Shirts – Diane Groenert will do – need minimum run of 6 – sign up ahead of time – print will be cream – can drop off at 125 W. Wayne – 12:00-2:00 on Fridays (Art Up) – individuals to supply shirts and will cost $10 per shirt. 

·                     Canterbury Project – Meet at Moody Park – 9:00 a.m. April 16th – will tie into Great American Clean Up

·                     1134 Nelson – not sold – Steve has someone in mind

 

NEW BUSINESS

·                     Bicycle Commission – Andy Stout named to commission

·                     Swinney Park Pool

o       City is closing pool 

o       need a drain cover and city does not want to put out the money for it because the city had planned on closing the pool next year anyways

o       Nebraska Neighborhood is probably affected because Swinney Park lies in its boundaries

o       Mike will contact the Nebraska Neighborhood president to discuss the issue

o       David will call Cindy re: E. Swinney pond weeds

·                  Emmanuel Street Party

o       Emmanuel will be closing the 1100 block of Union for a street party the last weekend of Three Rivers Festival

·                     West Central Yard Sale

o       Chris Snepp has volunteered to coordinate

·                     Performing Arts Center – on list for pictures

·                     ARCH – received a letter to join – we are not a member right now

o       M. Walsh makes a motion to join; J. Stark seconds; passes

·                  West Berry Street House

o       C. Weybright noted that the owners still have not repaired the damage done to the front

o       Will email Don and/or Creager to find out time frame

·                     Section 42 Housing

o       Meeting scheduled for May 13th  re: area involved

o       Flyers have been handed out to neighborhood

o       Heather Presley and Henry Hall will attend

o       D. Long suggests M. Anderson chair the meeting

o       Discussion on merits of moving forward with the Section 42 project held

§         M. Anderson makes a motion to vote to move forward; S. Miranda seconds motion; motion passes with one nay.

o       Subsequent to vote, discussion begins on conditions to impose on the developers and builders.

§         Board members note that there are too many to do in tonight’s meeting so discussion is tabled

§         J. Stark makes a motion to “clean-up” the list; C. Bromelmeier seconds; motion passes
