REPORTS

Minutes: presented

Treasurers: April Reports - entered and accepted

• Nelson Street developer fee has been received. Positive income showing for month of April.
• 2009 taxes have been approved and filed.

Membership: No update; but will give updated numbers with ones received tonight at the Monday Assn. Meeting.

Plan Committee:

o Emmanuel Lutheran Church – vote last week to move forward; looking at approvals. Committee has concern about ‘flag pole’ parking and any updated plans that the neighborhood has not seen to make sure they are within historic building guidelines. David Long to ask Pastor Tom Eggold to attend Monday’s meeting or ask to send a representative.

Thieme Drive - David Long delivered information regarding potential Thieme Drive updates to impacted areas residence. Was able to speak to some of the residence

Tour Committee –

• WCNA Tour Ad will be in TinCaps brochure with a 50/50 $500.00 match by DID.
• Next Meeting - May 25
• Arena Dinner Theater
• 6 confirmed homes; 1 church

EXISTING BUSINESS

· Dumpster Days (2)

• 1^st day = part of Great American Clean Up effort on June 5^th (which is a WCNA selected date). David has picked up gloves and trash bags.
• 8 a.m. to Noon
• 2^nd day = August 25^th

· WCNA Yard Sale

• June 24, 25 & 26^th
• Ad will be in Fort Wayne newspaper & West Central e-newsletter

· Bricks –

• Per last month’s ‘recommendation’: John Simerman spoke to Cindy @ Neighborhood Code and she feels there is an issue with trying to be flexible on one item and not another and in one neighborhood vs. another. They will not be changing any standards on their side.

· Section 42 –

• No new updates at this time.

· Great American Clean Up – May 15

• Business on Broadway keeping to this date and will have a crew on Broadway;

· Canterbury Volunteers

o May 26^th, selected date to assist West Central

o Full crew of 75 for 2 hours (after lunch at Moody Park)

o Need to identify jobs (1218 Fulton, 800 W. Washington block,).

NEW BUSINESS

· Dimension Ford Property –

o City wants to know if we want a separate meeting to discuss property.

§ Motion (passed): made by Cheri Stark “WCNA Board would like to have City give an overview/presentation at June Assn. meeting and share what has already been suggested. Then allow WC residence to add any additional ideas. 20-30 minute discussion” seconded by Chris Ruckman. Everyone in favor, no opposed.

· WC Newsletter – need delivery person for Berry Street on next newsletter delivery. If you know anybody, let David know, might want to break it into two.

· Thursday – Cheri Stark & David Long – presenting WC at the monthly meeting of the Assn of Women in Construction – location: Lone Star

· This Old House wants to do a follow up on WC ‘IN Best Neighborhood’ for a July 2010 article.

· Video opportunity to help market WC; DIDD going to look into it for us for costs and details. David will update us as he gets more detail.

§ Downtown Corridor, open meeting – Traffic flow discussion for Washington & Jefferson; how do you make it more pedestrian friendly; AECOM firm gathering data and will present findings at a later date. WC members attended the resident/pedestrian session.

· Mayor’s Walk – June 3^rd approximate location is Wayne & Berry streets (Thieme to Rockhill St).

· 800 Block W. Washington

• 800 Block W. Washington Blvd. (possible project)

§ Heightened awareness by City that something needs to happen with property.

§ Mike Anderson & John Simerman met with City officials and reviewed property ownership of the 5 various properties.

§ City, Heather, would like us to help find solution.

§ No specifics have been put in writing

§ City can help us with Site Control of the 5 combined properties.

§ 10:30 a.m. 5/18^th; Board to meet at 825 W. Washington along with people from various city departments.

§ Motion (passed): made by Jack Stark “Directors are interested in pursuing rehab the 5 combined houses on houses in 800 block Washington and 1^st steps would be receiving an outline of a plan including financing.” Seconded by Casi Bromelmeier. All in favor, no opposed.
