REPORTS

·                     Minutes from meeting of  September 2007, accepted and approved

·                     Treasurer’s Report:  about $10,000 net worth – no exact figures

 

PLANNING

 

1134 Nelson Street

 

·                     4-6 weeks to wrap up

·                     WCNA will probably use real estate agent to sell property

·                     Have had no more calls since House Tour

·                     Clean-up of property will need to be done

·                     Make sign to thank those involved

·                     Discussion about having an Open House

§         Preliminary date of November 4, 2007, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

§         See if Rosa will do press release

·                     Perhaps get newspaper coverage – Rosa Salter did story for the House Tour

 

1406 Broadway

 

·                     Has been purchased at a tax sale by Brian Schapper purchased

 

IACED

 

·                     Funds available - $1900 for salary - $500 for training

·                     About $11,000 left to access

·                     Have submitted accounting bills to IACED

·                     Need to look for new projects

·         Fulton Street – Linda Perez

o       Mike Anderson says the house is not in too bad of shape

·                     916 W. Washington sold

           

OTHER

 

·                     Trees 

·         Tom Cain produced a list of places

·         Mike Anderson got a list from Russ Garriot

·         Jill sent out mailing in conjunction with NSNA

·         Tom suggested WCNA contact neighbors of empty lots to see if they had any objections to planting trees – Jill said perhaps it wasn’t such a good idea

·                     Casi asked if there wasn’t some way to clean up the neighborhood

·         Youth services and/or inmates was suggested

·                     Treasurer slate could not be filled – no one would step forward to take the position

·         Check with Pat Oper re: part-time bookkeeper

·         A. Hofer suggested position should be streamlined so it isn’t so much of a burden

·         Discussion was held as to the length of time set for retaining offices – it is currently two years

·         M. Anderson made motion to modify Article 7 of the Bylaws to read that officers could hold office for four consecutive yearly terms

·         J. Simerman seconded

·         Motion passed

·         Amendment does not need to be ratified by membership

·                     Tour Stuff

·         Received $850 grant – Jill filed report with Arts United

·         DID still owes $500 for ad

·         M. Walsh can pick up laptop when he has time to do so

·         Patrice Hunsberger wants to have her house researched

·         Jeff Hersha – 922 W. Jefferson

·         Jill wants to go to O’Brian Conference

 

·                     914 W. Jefferson – owner is Jeff Orr

·                     800 block of Broadway – electric meters have been pulled

·                     St. Marys Watershed Initiative has been established – C. Weybright will be a stakeholder on behalf of West Central
