REPORTS

Minutes: August Minutes presented and accepted

Treasurers: August Reports presented and accepted

Membership: Total count increased to 104

Plan Committee:

• Business on Broadway – Bike Rack Art discussion:

o Board does support effort at this preliminary stage

o Would potentially help sponsor a bike rack down the road once we know more specifics and we would look to have design control/input to steer it toward historic neighborhood concept.

• Committee continues to review WCNA Plan

Thieme Drive:

• No update on Erosion
• Flood Control ongoing construction

Tour Committee:

• Reviewed preliminary numbers from Chris
• Post mortem meeting = Wed. Sept 29 @ Soup Salad & Spirits

EXISTING BUSINESS

· Section 42

• In process of sending WCNA material to Whitley Crossing

· CHDO – sub committee research gathering.

• 825 W. Washington
• CHDO Recertification paperwork submitted (takes approx. 10 business days for normal approval process).
• Update that Chris Lepper (HANDS) is working on it; may have follow up questions.
• Outstanding Tasks:
• 1) Waiting on specific updated estimate on work; Dana’s office will not be doing the re-estimate; John contacted private party on estimate. 2) We then turn in bid to City and they come back with financial figures of what they are willing to fund. 3) WCNA then looks for contractor bids. 4) Board recommends approval or not; then 5) goes to WCNA General Meeting for approval.
• CHDO Application – submitted once 1 -5 above is completed

• 1116 W. Washington is up for tax sale – Sept 22

• 800 Block of W. Washington -
• 817 W. Washington is coming up for tax sale next week
• Small spot of land behind 815 W. Washington is scheduled to be part of tax sales; had discussion on whether WCNA should bid on land. Discussion led to not pursuing at this time.

· Local Historic District (LHD)

o No discussion

· Conflict of Interest

o Tabled review of sample language to the October Board meeting

o Board in favor of adopting a more in-depth policy and will continue discussion.

NEW BUSINESS

· Liability Insurance – liability insurance coverage

o Information given to agent; no update from carrier.

· P.E.D.I.C.U.R.E. – several residents in the neighborhood have signed petition against future cart displays and/or monthly events; this was sent to the city by a resident.

· Workload of WCNA Treasurer – due to large effort of the role had discussion on whether WCNA should financially compensate Treasurer. Discussion led to a unanimous ‘no’.

· LaSalle B & B bought additional space and willing to offer office & meeting room to WCNA

· David Fry – Monday night speaker 7 p.m. applying for 3-way license for Diner Theater Arena.

·

· Betsy Keisler – Police liaison; John has invited her to September association meeting.

· Neighborhood Watch Class – tabled till October at the earliest
