·                     Minutes 

o       Minutes from the May meeting were read and approved

·                     Treasurer’s Report

o       Net worth as of June 18, 2007 is $17,996.89

o       Net Income as of May 21, 2007 is $6,806.03 – Net expense was $6,321.63 – net balance through June 18, 2007 was $484.40

·                     Membership Report

o       53 individual

o       17 business

COMMITTEE REPORTS

·                  West Central House Tour

o       Everything is pretty much set for the present

§         $3800 in sponsorships

§         July 1, 2007, is deadline date for sponsorships

§         June 19, 2007, is the next meeting

·                  Planning Committee

o       Home ownership program is now closed

o       Wilt Street model block area – grant money still available

·                  Flood Protection

o       July 5 has been set as the date for the charrette

o       Alec Johnson and Tom Cain will be leading meeting

o       The pink ribbons which have been placed around trees and telephone poles on Thieme Drive represent the 100 year flood +2 feet

·                  Other

o       Summertime projects

o       Home improvement fraud is a concern with elder citizens – call police if you suspect fraud

o       CCW – understaffed and behind

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

·                     1134 Nelson Street

o       On schedule

o       Initial tear out has been done

§         The house will be presented on the House Tour in September

§         WCNA looking for owner residents and will include guidelines and covenants in purchase

§         Have run into a couple of structural issues which required changes

·                     1000 Block of Broadway

o       City Council voted against the measure making the block an historic area

o       Vote was 4 – 4

o       Each council member gave reasoning behind vote

o       Total of 5 property owners were involved with the majority of the property owners wanting the designation

o       Ordinance was interpreted differently

o       Suggestion was for Scott Greider and other owners to approach St. Johns with an offer or plan in an effort to save the buildings

o       St. Johns is not being cooperative

·                     Garage Sale

o       Set for June 23rd and 24th

o       Signs will be put out and ad placed in newspapers

·                     Dumpster Day

o       Set for June 30th

o       Volunteers will monitor the dumpster which will be placed on a city parking lot in the neighborhood

·                     800 block of W. Washington Blvd

o       802-804 West Washington Blvd.

§         ARCH purchased property

§         ARCH is researching resources to help in renovation

§         Will need to research zoning issues for off-street parking

§         Mary Rockhill Tyler house in rear is not part of purchase

o       815 W. Washington is now off the demo list

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

o             Thieme Drive charrette

·         Set for July 5, 2007 at 6:30 p.m.

o                   816 Lavina

·         Under OTD due to code violations – hearing set for 1:30 p.m., June 19, 2007

·         Possibly next CHDO project

·         Not quite sure as to ownership

·         Taxes owed are $2200 with sale in late December

·         Motion made by Tom Cain that the board ask for delay in demolition to investigate ownership of property – Motion seconded by Larry Coddell – Motion carried

o                   1433 Swinney

·         Under an OTD

·         Owners are deceased

o                   Other

·         Legislature passed scrap metal law to require businesses to keep track of metals sold
