·                     Minutes 

o       Minutes from the October meeting were read and approved

·                     Treasurer’s Report

o       Balance Sheet - $25,022.87

o       Total Income - $31,698.58

o       Total Expenses - $68,428.59

·                     Membership Report

o       70 individual

o       19 business

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

 

·                  Planning Committee

o       City façade grant plan – not a lot of people interested – maybe 2

o       Broadway improvements – December 3, 2007

·                  CCW  

o       914 W. Jefferson turned in for drug location

o       L. Codding called Tim Pape about amending drug law but has not received a response

o       Possibly talk to the FWPD after the holidays

o       FWPD says the law needs to be changed

o       Anyone can put up sensors to illuminate areas and also use cameras

o       Brass Rail has become an area of criminal activity – three muggings in three weeks

·                  Flood

o       No wall can be built due to instability of underlying soil and rock – DLZ took soil borings to a depth of 25’ before solid ground was hit

o       At this point, the project is at a standstill due to the expense and minimal amount of protection afforded

·                  Other – Mention of swimming pool at the corner of Swinney and College

 

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

 

·                     1134 Nelson Street

o       Almost done

o       Carpet was replaced in certain areas due to problems with the seams

o       Several people are interested and are looking into financing

§         Glen Ellenberger of Keystone Realty is working with WCNA at no charge

 

§                     1010 Broadway

·         BZA hearing is 11/29/07

·         J. Simerman took a letter of support to the BZA

·         Plan is to have apartment upstairs; however, there is no on-site parking so parking will have to be on street

 

§                     Christmas Party

·         Will be at Wellspring and not across the street at the Firehouse

·         The party will be third Monday, December 17, 2007, and a short meeting will be held prior to the party

·         Carol, Cindy, and Norma are the committee members working on the party

·         L. Codding makes a motion to provide $250 to help with party expenses – M. Anderson seconds – motion passes

§                     Other

·         West Central House Tour meeting will be February 26, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.

 

NEW BUSINESS

·                     WCNA Employee

·         Jill is leaving at the end of December to work at hospital

·         Board is looking for a replacement, and we have one interested person

 

·                     Elections

·         Slate nominated last month – call for any additions – none received

·         Slate closed

·         Nominees

§         Mike Anderson – President

§         Steve Miranda – Vice-President

§         Mike Walsh – Treasurer

§         Charlotte A. Weybright – Secretary

§         Tracy Potter - Membership

·         L. Codding makes motion to close nominations – motion seconded by C. Bromelmeier – motion passes

·         L. Codding – motion to approve by acclimation – A. Potter seconds –motion passes

 

OTHER

 

·                     Additional trees have been planted in the neighborhood thanks to Jill and Tom

·                     Emmanuel Lutheran Church has offered its facilities for our meetings

·                     Carriage owners/operators are concerned that the Santa and Reindeer sign is being turned off at 8:30 weekdays and 9:00 weekends

·         The businesses have suggested a contest for lighting

·         Perhaps DID could chip in $ to help with electrical bill

·         M. Anderson will contact the City and/or DID
