TREASURER’S REPORT

·         Approved and accepted

 

MEMBERSHIP

·         108 members

 

PLANNING COMMITTEE

·         Cherise Fortriede gave results of the survey for downtown design standards

·         Would request that the city also present the results to West Central

 

OLD BUSINESS

·         Thieme Drive

o       Gabion baskets will be used to stabilize river bank

o       Bids have been advertised

o       Official word from the city is that there is no water main break just northeast of W. Washington Blvd. on Thieme Drive

·         Section 42

o       2010 new target date and will not be done this year

o       The steering committee met with Granite Ridge

o       Suggestion was made to take some properties off the tax rolls and maybe move some to other neighborhoods (Nebraska and/or south of Talyor)

·         1134 Nelson

o       WCNA won the tax appeal – will recover some of already-paid taxes that shouldn’t have been paid

·         Election of Officers

o       Nominations of slate of the following candidates was read:

§         President – John Simerman

§         Vice President – Charlotte Weybright

§         Secretary – Susan Smethers

§         Treasurer – Chris Ruckman

§         Membership – Cherie Stark

o       Floor opened to additional nominations and there being none, the slate presented was elected

o       Steve Miranda will serve as co-chair of the fundraising committee

·         Promise House

o       Request for variance was withdrawn by the Promise House

o       New location will be in East Central

o       Buildings may be put up for sale

·         Grace House

o       Catholic diocese owns the building and it is being vacated

o       Not sure what measures the diocese will take with the building

o       D. Long will check into the zoning status of the property

·         Christmas Party

o       Party will be at the fire station on Broadway from 7:00 p.m. to ??

 

NEW BUSINESS

·         Cedit funds request must be in before December 31, 2009

·        Suggestions were brick streets (Wilt and Swinney)

·        Street signs

·        Any more suggestions call Mike Anderson at 918-RENT

·         D. Long to write letter to GE congratulating them on the restoration of the GE sign

·         Glenn Ellenberger has been working on the old church located on Old Trail Road – candlelight services to be held
