OLD BUSINESS

 

·         Nominating Committee

o       Larry Codding to head nominating committee – slate to be presented in October

o       David Long to be volunteer on committee

·         Clean-Up date – October 24th at 8:00 a.m.

·         1220 Stophlet

o       Neighborhood code wants to tear down – will continue to be discussed

 

NEW BUSINESS

·         Paige and Witherspoon Construction Co.

o       wants to buy land/properties to build NY style brownstone

o       Energetic group – interested in tearing down 800 block of W. Washington Blvd. and building brownstones

o       Company was discouraged – will look in other parts of city

·         Tire Day

o       October 17, 2009 – 8-11 a.m.

o       75 cents

o       Take tires to Wilt and Van Buren – county parking lot

o       Newsletter will contain details

·            Traffic issues

o       Joanne brought up about traffic and parking difficulties

o       Motion made to ask city to repaint worn yellow lines – motion passed

·            13-Step House

o          J.C. Combs – preliminary zoning hearing tentatively scheduled for October 6th

o          Request for WCNA support

o          Wants variance in order to operate 13-Step House, 1314 and 1322 W. Jefferson Blvd.

o          Discussion to continue – any questions call 424-2341

o          Motion to support – motion not carried need more info

o          David to call Russ re:  wording of city ordinance

o          BOD to hear details pre-hearing
