Become a Member of the West Central Neighborhood Association

In the mid-1980s, a portion of the West Central neighborhood was designated as a national and local historic district.  This was in recognition of the collection of architecturally significant and intact buildings representing this early residential neighborhood that was important in the development of the city of Fort Wayne. At that time we formed this association for the purpose of  collectively preserving the area to ensure that this is “Urban Living at its Best.”

WEST CENTRAL MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS AND HAPPENINGS:

Membership: Memberships start at just $10/year.
(You do not need to be a Homeowner or Resident to join WCNA. We welcome all interested parties to our organization.)

Benefits of becoming a member:

1. Home Beautification Program:  The neighborhood association will pay up to $300 of your exterior home project. Info:  https://westcentralneighborhood.org/beautification-program/
2. Sidewalk & Curb Program:  The neighborhood association will pay up to 50% of your cost for new sidewalks and curbs. Info: https://westcentralneighborhood.org/sidewalk-curb-program/
3. Tree Program:  You can acquire a a free native tree for your park strip or yard. Info: https://westcentralneighborhood.org/tree-program/
4. Security Program: The neighborhood association will pay up to $100 for new security lights and cameras on your home. Info: https://westcentralneighborhood.org/home-security-program/
5. Exterior Renovations:  If your home is located inside the Local Historic District (LHD), you are subject Historic Preservation Guidelines. Neighborhood Association — No membership necessary
Keep up with what’s happening:

Porch Parties: Get together with great neighbors on Friday evenings, May through October. Send an email with your name and email address to WCporches@gmail.com to be added to the notification list for upcoming porch parties.

Neighborhood Association Meetings: Typically held every 3rd Monday of the month from 7-8pm at Emmanuel Lutheran Church (917 W Jefferson) in the basement.
